on to the next one

so, it's definitely on to the next one for me. yesterday a friend, my husband & i shared 2 pitchers of margaritas. at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. it was just what i needed.

i've decided to make an effort to stop putting my life on hold. i've decided to sign up for a half marathon. i've run a couple of half marathons in the past, a few 10Ks & 5Ks but i have to admit that i've totally been slacking when it comes to my fitness. i always have an excuse - 1) i'm post-call. 2) i'm on call. 3) it's dark outside. 4) it's too cold. while some of these excuses may be valid as far as running OUTSIDE, there's always the gym! i've decided to focus on getting my sexy back instead of saying to myself, "it's okay to have gained 10lbs since starting fellowship because you'll be gaining even more when you get pregnant!" well, i'm not pregnant so i shouldn't have this poochie belly/muffin top!

thanks for stopping by & reading this. hope you have a great friday!

  1. This is exactly what I am doing. I suffered an early miscarriage last month and should probably be feeling pretty depressed, but instead my husband and I planned a trip to Italy- we have always wanted to go and now we have the opportunity. We were really sad, but at least this is something we can focus on.

I've really enjoyed reading your thoughts- at least I know I am not alone. Getting pregnant isn't easy for everyone- even though I am surrounded by friends and family who gotten pregnant (some with twins!) on their first try. But I think it's good you are focusing on yourself and hitting up the gym/training for running events.

I may be hitting up a reproductive endo this spring (after my trip to Italy)- have you thought about doing that yet? I have a thyroid problem so I am definitely going to go. I wish you the best of luck!

  2. Christina,

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad that you and your husband have something to look forward to! Italy is definitely a place I want to visit with my husband. I did this Europe trip when I graduated from college with one of my best friends. I'd love to go back with my husband since it's so beautiful and just romantic! I'm sure you'll have a great time.

My husband is really trying to get me to hold out until we reach the 1 year mark of "actively trying". I can see his point of view but from my point of view, I've been off the pill for 21 months with no baby so I'm worried something's wrong. If we aren't pregnant by May 2011, I will definitely be looking into seeing a reproductive endocrinologist.

Thanks again for your comment and reading my blog!
